AN ACT
MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO THE PUBLIC EDUCATION DEPARTMENT TO PROVIDE DEFIBRILLATOR TRAINING TO EDUCATIONAL PERSONNEL IN RURAL SCHOOL DISTRICTS.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:
SECTION 1. APPROPRIATION.--One hundred fifty thousand dollars ($150,000) is appropriated from the government results and opportunity program fund to the public education department for expenditure in fiscal year 2026 to contract with a national organization that publishes official guidelines for cardiopulmonary resuscitation and emergency cardiovascular care to train educational personnel in rural school districts to use defibrillators in a cardiac emergency. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2026 shall revert to the government results and opportunity program fund.
